Since 1992, North American Land Trust has worked with a variety of landowners all over the United States to conserve significant natural resources on over 135,00 acres with Conservation Easements, enhance habitat with Conservation Management Plans, and steward properties with our advanced Monitoring program. Our focus area in the Texas Gulf Coast includes 5,665 conserved acres in Aransas and Calhoun Counties, which support millions of migratory birds inhabiting the Texas Coast every year, including the federally endangered Whooping Crane. Our goal is to build a system of connected Conservation Areas to protect ever larger stretches of coastal prairie, wetlands, tidal and salt marsh.
