POSITION: Land Stewardship Mgr/ Land Steward

AGENCY: Siglo Group

LOCATION: Austin area

Siglo Group is an ecological planning, design, and restoration firm based in Austin, TX, with an office in Salt Lake City, UT. Since 2006 we have helped clients integrate ecology and conservation into how land and water are planned, designed, and managed, at scales ranging from millions of acres to a single urban greenway. Our core values: instill a sense of place, drive stewardship, enhance ecosystem services, and address climate change.

We are growing our on-the-ground restoration practice, and these roles are central to that effort.

Role Description: Landscape Stewardship Mgr

We are hiring a full-time Land Stewardship Manager to lead our field restoration crew of about four. This is a field-forward, working crew lead role, roughly 75% field and 25% office. A majority of the field work happens on the Barton Creek Greenbelt, one of the most loved and most heavily used natural areas in Austin. The balance is equivalent restoration work at other Central Texas sites.

You direct the crew and work alongside them: trail work, invasive species removal, native plantings, and restoration on the ground. Trail work and mechanical invasive species management are the largest components, followed by meadow seeding and woodland restoration. You also lead the volunteer events that are central to how we do this work.

Role Description: Land Steward

We are hiring Land Stewards to do hands-on restoration work on the Barton Creek Greenbelt and other Central Texas natural areas. You work as part of a small crew under our Land Stewardship Manager: trail work, invasive species removal, native seeding and planting, and erosion control. You also help run the volunteer events that are central to how we do this work.

This is real field work, contributing to better parks and preserves. You will use tools, get dirty, and end most days tired and able to point at exactly what you did.
