The Blanco County Conservation Initiative seeks to create an inclusive organization with common goals, where all Blanco County citizens feel welcome, and where we are engaging with local and state government entities, developers and business as well as the state legislature to create a path towards our vision of a Blanco County that we all love. Our vision is a community that is aware, energized and involved in the effort to enjoy open space, clean water, dark night skies, and the rural character and history of the county. You can join our community of supporters and become a member today by visiting our website. Your membership directly supports our mission to educate, celebrate, and help protect what we love about Blanco County.
Best Practices for Developments and Landowners in Blanco County were developed by BCCI in response to a grass roots effort by over 200 people concerned about the effects of developments on Blanco County. The top concerns were prioritized into four subcategories: Ground and Surface Water Conservation, Landscape and Wildlife Conservation, Night Sky Preservation, and Preservation of Agricultural Production and Protection of Rural Character and History.
